Welcome to Barrett Weimaraners!!!

Hello! I'm Kim; I live in the So Cal 'burbs with my ~~two~~ ~~three~~ four beautiful Weimaraners. We do everything together: take walks, hike trails, visit dog beaches, eat at restaurants, go wine tasting (!!!), stay in hotels... the list goes on. Most of the time, I write about my dogs {here}.

With the mentorship and support of the Weimaraner community, I breed on occasion and with purpose under the Barrett Weimaraners kennel name.

This website is primarily a place for me to showcase my dogs, but it's also a resource for prospective and current Barrett Weimaraner owners. If you'd like to join our extended family, please start {here}.

Field/Hunt/Test News

November 2017 - Zane earns his AKC Junior Hunter Title with four straight passes (with scores of 9s and 10s) at the age of 6.5 months.

November 2017 - Steven WINS the Open Puppy Stake at the Las Cruces GSP Club's Field Trial with Terry Chandler/Rugerheim Kennels.

September 2017 - Boulder earns a very nice SECOND PLACE ribbon in the Open Gun Dog stake with 21 starters at the Sahuaro Brittany Club Field Trial in Springerville, Arizona.

March 2017 - Turbo wins the NWA Open Derby Stake for the second year in a row with Diane Vater.

February 2017 - Turbo wins the 2017 Western Field Futurity in California City. Littermate brother Ticon comes in Second Place.

February 2017 - Baja, Zanie, and Luna earn their AKC Junior Hunter Titles in California City.

April 2016 - Three of the Autobots (Luna, Ticon and Turbo) get NAVHDA NA-tested. Scores are: Prize I (112) for Luna, Prize I (110) for Ticon, and Prize III (102) for Turbo.

February 2016 - Zanie (2014 Torque x Friday) earns a Fourth Place ribbon in the Open Derby stake at the Orange Coast Weimaraner Club’s trial in Kingman, AZ!

Februray 2016 - Gracie (2014 Max x Friday) WINS the Open Derby stake at the 2016 WCA Western Classic in Kingman, AZ! Gracie now has 4 points towards her FC.

February 2016 - Bug (2014 Torque x Friday) WINS the Field Futurity at the 2016 WCA Western Classic in Kingman, AZ!

December 2015 - Gracie earns SECOND PLACE in the National Open Derby at the 2015 WCA National Field Trial in Ardmore, OK!

December 2015 - Boulder (2013 Max x Friday) earns THIRD PLACE in the National Futurity at the 2015 WCA National Field Trial in Ardmore, OK!

December 2015 - Bug (2014 Torque x Friday) earns her NSD title and Stark (2014 Torque x Friday) earns his JH title with all four passes!

April 2015 - Madras, OR - Boulder and Gracie both compete in the 2015 WCA Western Classic, hosted by the Willamette Weimaraner Club. No placements, but both dogs ran well!

April 2015 - Boulder earns SECOND PLACE in Open Derby at the WCA Western Classic!

April 2015 - Gracie WINS the Open Puppy stake at the WCA Western Classic!

April 2015 - Gracie WINS the Open Puppy stake at the Central New Mexico Brittany Club All-Breed Trials!

Barrett Show News

July 1st, 2016 - BOULDER WINS BEST DOG IN MATURITY AT THE 2016 WCA WESTERN FUTURITY/MATURITY!!!! Also, 1st Place Intermediate Futurity Bitch goes to Ellie, 2nd Place Intermediate Futurity goes to littermate sister Zanie, 4th Place Intermediate Futurity Bitch goes to littermate Bug and 4th Place Intermediate Futurity Dog goes to littermate Stark. !!!! To have four of the Torque x Friday kids PLACE in the Futurity is simply amazing. Well done, kids.

June 26th, 2016 - The Barrett kids had a great showing in Long Beach. BOB for Boulder on Friday and Saturday, and little sister Bug comes in with a BOB from the classes to earn her Third Major!!! (Boulder BOS that day.)

June 12th, 2016 - We had a great time at Woofstock! A total of 3 BOBs and one BOS for Boulder, 1 BOS and 2 Selects plus 2 BOBOH for Ellie, and a very nice 3-point Major for Gracie, which also makes her a NEW CHAMPION!!!

May 31st, 2016 - The Mission Circuit was a big success for the Barrett kids. In total, Two BOS ribbons for Zanie, one Select ribbon for Boulder, one BOS ribbon and two Select ribbons for Ellie, WB for a 3-point Major for Gracie on Sunday and WB for 2 more points for Gracie on Monday.

May 22nd, 2016 - After a brief hiatus from the show ring, the Barrett kids are back! On Sunday at the SF Bay Club Weimaraner Specialty, Ellie (2014 Torque x Friday) goes WB to earn a 4-point Major. The following day at the Coyote Hills Kennel Club, littermate sister Bug goes WB/BOW to earn a 3-point Major. On Sunday, Ellie picks up another 3-point Major to finish as a NEW CHAMPION, with a total of four Majors (5, 4, 4, 3), exclusively out of the BBE class. Thank you all for a great weekend! Meanwhile, back at the Mt. Palomar KC in Southern CA, Rob and Boulder earned two BOBs.
