POSTCARD FROM BAJA (2016 Rossi x Mika Litter).
Charles and Kristi came to us a few years ago looking for a “huntin’ dawg.” It just so happened that we were planning a breeding that should produce just that.
Every week for eight weeks, the Salse family came by to see the puppies grow up. I knew by 6-7 weeks which boy was theirs (the big, confident, quick one with the beautiful head) and it killed me to wait until eight weeks to tell them the good news. 😁
The deal we had was, “enjoy your boy, go hunting with him, and treat him like your second son.”
Boy, did they ever. Before I knew it, I was getting reports that Baja was on fire at training days, running so big he left the county. His parents signed him up for a few hunt tests, and in two minutes he came home with his JH.
And then they took him to his Field Futurity. We got Charles on a horse for the first time, slapped the horse on the butt, and said “good luck!” Baja came home from his first field trial as the 2018 Western Field Futurity winner. 👊🏼Completely owner trained and handled. And then they hauled their trailer up to Oregon, and AGAIN, Baja came home with a Western Show Futurity ribbon. !!!!!!
AND THEN LAST WEEKEND, CHARLES TOOK BAJA FOR A SPIN AT THE DOG SHOWS.
A family like this, who cherishes their dog in every way, is a breeder’s dream.
Charles and Kristi – We’re honored to have you as part of the gang. ❤️
