So sorry this is coming to you guys a little late! It’s been a busy week at Barrett HQ, but everyone is doing great. Here are some photos from Week Four:
…
Wednesday, October 29th: It was Elliephant’s turn to get a little couch time in. Didn’t take long before she passed out. Staring at her is our foster dog, Darryl. (Hey, know anyone looking for an adult rescue Weimaraner?! I’ll even sponsor his $500 adoption fee if any of you know someone who might be able to take him in.) The other dog in the photo is our other girl, Britta. The hairy human is my husband, Barry.

Sunday, November 2nd: Busy weekend. In between house-sitting in Lancaster (to take care of horses and dogs for someone), I had a string of dog shows to attend, so not a lot of time at the house. AND we babysat two Weimie boys for other people…

First day of eating real food (pureed with goats milk and spun in the blender).

TeddyBear’s turn at the sofa.

Teeth!!! They’re sharp!!!

We’re using goat’s milk from The Honest Kitchen to start the weaning process.
Monday, November 3rd: The puppies got some time on the kitchen floor while I cleaned our their box.

To hold the seam down between the two blankets, I added a baking sheet… which also doubled as a “new slippery surface to get acclimated to.”

The kids owned the slip and slide like little bosses. Didn’t bother them one bit. (Good!)
Tuesday, November 4th:

Additional updates:
Crate training is about to begin. If you want your puppy to get acclimated to their own crate before you bring him/her home, please let me know what kind of crate you want (wire or plastic, small size or full size, etc.) and I’m happy to pick it up with a crate pad for you. You can reimburse me later. The benefit is: Your puppy will go home with an environment they’re already familiar with.
This litter is eating “Thrive” from The Honest Kitchen, mostly because I had a foster dog this summer who was allergic to beef, so I bought four boxes of Thrive for him. (We later learned he was also allergic to chicken so now I still have four of these boxes to use up!) If you plan to buy some Honest Kitchen for your pups, consider “Thrive” for consistency purposes instead of “Verve.” (Verve, however, is more economical and I’m sure your puppy would do fine on it if you chose to buy that instead.)
Note: Puppies will be going home with a starter bag of Wellness Core, so you won’t need that right away.

Directions for Ordering Wellness Core:
I used to get the Wellness Core from the local PetSmart, but now I have it shipped from www.chewy.com. The retail price for a 26-pound bag is $66, but with the selected “autoship” option from the Chewy website, I’m only paying $52.95 to have the food sent right to my front door. FREE SHIPPING, NO SALES TAX. The only commitment is having the food auto-shipped and auto-billed on an every-so-often basis. Just click on the frequency that works for you. Pretty good deal, considering I no longer have to go TO the pet store, AND it’s cheaper.
