Making Entries for Dog Shows

Making Entries for Dog Shows

On the West Coast, dog show entries are primarily made through the following Superintendents:

  • Jack Bradshaw
  • Onofrio
  • MBF
  • BayRay Events

Below is a step by step instruction for how to get your Weimaraner entered through Jack Bradshaw. Once you submit your entry, the superintendent will send you an email confirmation. Once you get that confirmation, forward it to kim [at] barrettweimaraners [dot] com so we can add your dog to our master calendar.

The first step is to pull out a copy of your dog’s AKC certificate. You will need the information it contains to make your entry. Next, visit the Jack Bradshaw website. Click on “Entry Forms,” listed on the left sidebar. Then click on “Dog Show Entry Form” (blue arrow below).

Now you will see the below page. Write in your dog’s AKC registration number, and click “Go.” After you click “Go,” scroll down. You will see a series of upcoming shows. If you are trying to enter your dog for the Saturday, August 7, 2021 South Bay Kennel Club Shows, as well as the Sunday, August 8, 2021 South Bay Kennel Club Shows, for example, click on both lines. Then keep scrolling down the page.

Now you’ll see where you enter your dog’s information. Weimaraners do not have a “Variety,” so leave this box blank. Sex is “Dog” for all male dogs and “Bitch” for all female dogs. Under Dog Show Class, write in what Kim tells you to write in. If Kim is showing your dog, it will likely be “Bred-By Exhibitor Dog” or “Bred-By Exhibitor Bitch.” If you are showing your own dog, it could be 6-9 Puppy, 9-12 Puppy, 12-18 Junior, American Bred, or Open. Leave the next few boxes blank because they don’t apply. The next entry will be Full Name of Dog, which is your dog’s registered name as listed on his or her AKC certificate. Note: The information for Actual Owner(s) Name needs to exactly match what is shown on the AKC certificate. Failure to match this information may disqualify your dog (which will result in being stripped of any points won at these shows). Leave Name of Owner’s Agent blank; this only gets filled out if we are using a professional handler, and that handler has been assigned at the time of making this entry. The rest of the form is self explanatory. Text or email Kim with any questions.

Submit and save your confirmation!
