Soba is our stud fee puppy out of a litter sired by Trax Blaise Pascal. His mom, Reese, is a bold, adventuresome, agile, sweet, and high drive in equal measure. A good looker too, she won Best Puppy in Sporting Group at 6 months old her first time in the ring and finished her AKC Championship with a Best of Breed win. Reese has simply tremendous talent in the field with high style on birds leading her to easily complete the requirements for a Field Championship thereby becoming the first AKC Dual Champion Weimaraner in quite some years. We’re hoping that little Soba will be just as successful as his mom. Soba lives with Bob and Beth Worrell in Lancaster, CA and will primarily be an agility dog. Of course, we’ll also play the conformation, NAVHDA, hunt test and field trial game as well!
December 14, 2019 – From Beth – What a fantastic time we had at the WCA National Field Trial!
Soba ran well in the futurity, but did not place. But, in the National Derby, he placed 3rd, behind his sister Avy and her handler Stacie Roberts. Congratulations to you!
Undoubtedly I will forget someone essential, but thanks to Judy Owen, Shirley Nilsson, and Kim Burnell for my favorite boy. Thanks to the judges, Andy Gerdes and Justin Allen. And especially, my scout Ray Nowell (Connie Nowell) and Wayne Cowles, who was always there to help me up onto my horse. The advice, instructions and guidance you provided is what put Soba into the ribbons. Thank you all!
Thrilled to have placed in our first Nationals!
October 26, 2019 – Beth’s Recap from WCA Nationals:

Can’t wait until he is ready to compete in Agility. He was so excited watching the Agility trial, I think he wants to compete, too!
Soba – Second Place in National Show Futurity
April 18, 2019 from Beth – Family portrait of Soba, momma Reese, and sister Avy, taken at the field trial. So nice me meet and hang with Judy, who raised the pups, and Stacie, Avy’s owner. Looking forward to many more shared experiences! Soba was not allowed off leash without tracking collar after an adventurous run the evening before. He was amped!
March 14, 2019 from Beth – HE DID IT! Ch. Trax Barrett Call Me Buckwheat JH. Our boy Soba (Blaise Pascal x Reese) had another fabulous weekend, changing gears to confidently trot around the show ring in Arizona. He is so lucky to have Kim Burnell at the end of his leash, guiding him to Best of Winners both Saturday and Sunday, collecting 10 points and earning his Championship! In the last ten days he has picked up 2 OD points at a huge all breed field trial (17 entries) and now 10 more show points including two 5-pt Majors to finish IN STYLE!!! Thanks to Shirley Nilsson and Judy Owen for this wonderful pup. He is a treasure! Special thanks to Gene and Stacy Zepeda, hosts extraordinaire. They put up with our gray invasion of 7 young weimaraners with smiles on their faces and laughter thoughout the weekend. They are special people!
January 20, 2019 from Beth – On Friday, in what judges described as the most competitive derby they’d ever judged (and observers ageed), Soba took 4th place in Open Derby in California City. And, followed it up with a 2nd place in Amateur Walking Derby yesterday! We received a lot of positive feedback from judges and friends. Fingers crossed for Soba for next weekend.
From Beth – Thanks to Kim Burnell for her hard work and fun times this weekend, and Lori Barbee for sharing her wonderful Sterling with Soba and us. We had a great weekend. Soba placed 2nd in the puppy sweepstakes to his sister, Sterling. Congratulations, Sterling! You rocked it!
And Soba was awarded BOW on Sunday, for his 2nd 3 pt major.
He also won owner / handler division, finishing with great puppy style. He was forced to jump a 12″ flag marking a hole on his final go around. All arms and legs and ears flying, but upon landing immediately resumed the proper gait. The judge enjoyes his performance. Wish I’d caught that one on video.
All in all, a wonderful weekend of adventures.
February 24, 2019 from Beth – What’s your favorite color? Mine is Blue! Soba earned first place in the Open Derby class at the GWP Club of So Cal all breed field trial, beating out 16 dogs for the coveted blue ribbon! It was an awesome run and he is such a fun dog. Thanks to Carlos DeTevis for scouting for me! I am so lucky to have this dog.
