In collaboration with Touchstone Weimaraners, Barrett Weimaraners is pleased to announce an upcoming litter with GCH Knight n’ Barrett’s Pioneer Mountain Man, “Boulder,” and Timberdoodle Stella Artois NAVHDA NA Prize II, “Stella.” The purpose of this breeding is to produce beautiful, moderate Weimaraners with superb stamina, no-quit attitude, fluid movement and exquisite style. The best puppies out of this litter are expected to be fine personal hunting companions. As companion dogs, we expect them to be active, alert, and athletic.
BOULDER in particular is my faithful companion. He’s a medium sized boy with killer good looks, a let’s go somewhere attitude, and a serious desire to cuddle. His claim to fame is that he can dust a bowl of food in less than 60 seconds. His mad Houdini skills also proves that you can suck a blanket that’s draped over a crate through the grates so that you have a cozier den to sleep in. You can read more about his street creds on his page, but in summary, Boulder’s my best boy and I enjoy every minute I have with him. Boulder is also Mango’s dad, and for those of you who know her personally, you’ll also know he can sire some outstanding dogs.
STELLA was bred by our good friend Camille of Timberdoodle Weimaraners in Michigan, and is owned by Anne of Touchstone Weimaraners in Los Angeles. Since Camille, Anne and I are friends [see also: the Weimaraner network is tight-knit one], we’ve all been able to share in Stella’s journey and successes. Anne and I in particular are part of the same local pointing dog training group, so I get to see Stella just about every weekend when the weather is good. In addition to being a sweet, friendly girl, I personally know Stella to be incredibly athletic and absolutely stunning to look at when she’s doing bird work. Stella also has the most stamina I’ve ever seen out of a Weimaraner (and I’ve seen plenty); it’s proof that she’s bred for balance and working ability.
The Boulder x Stella breeding is a special one. Both Anne and I plan to keep a puppy each out of this litter for our next generation, and we have a couple of people on our short-list who have committed to bringing home a potential field trial prospect Weimaraner, or even dual champion-prospect Weimaraner. We expect that remaining puppies would be available for companion/pet families. Puppies are due in August and will go home in October.
6/20 Update: The interest list for the Boulder x Stella litter is now closed.

Every planned litter builds upon the hard work of breeders, owners, trainers, and handlers of the dogs that came before them. As demonstrated in the chart below, while the Boulder x Stella litter is bred by Touchstone (Anne) and sired by Barrett (Kim), the ancestry goes significantly back to Camelot (32%), Reiteralm (29%), and Timberdoodle (11%).
A big thank you to those who came before us: Sue Thomas of Camelot Weimaraners is an active breeder (primarily in show/conformation venues) in Rhode Island, Virginia Alexander of Reiteralm Weimaraners has passed on but leaves behind a great legacy, and Camille Rice and Mindy Brown of Timberdoodle Weimaraners are active breeders of hunting Weimaraners. With this solid foundation in place, Anne and I expect nothing short of greatness.
Lucky is the new owner of one of these puppies. 🙂
