Ruby | Smokey Topaz n’ Barrett’s Ruby Mountain – Age 3
DOB: May 1, 2017
Owner: Mark and Kim Urbani
Career. Ruby was bred to be a versatile dog; capable at the beauty pageants and also out in the field hunting birds. Ruby won her class at the 2018 WCA National Specialty Show, and the following year, came out to the Western Show Maturity in Ventura. Unfortunately, due to COVID, plans to complete Ruby’s show career are on indefinite hold. In the meantime, we’re getting out, hunting birds, and enjoying nature.

At Home. As a youngster, Ruby was hell on wheels. Active, exuberant, playful, and dominant, Ruby commanded attention, all day everyday. What Ruby wanted, Ruby got. With the exception of one purple dinosaur, Ruby was known for destroying toys and stuffies. Fortunately, she was also very sweet and loving to her mom and dad, and a social butterfly to every person and dog she came across. As she matured, Ruby mellowed out and turned into a great family dog. Obedient, good natured, and sweet with a bit of sass thrown in.
2021 Rooster x Ruby Litter. Weimaraners as a breed are moderately sized hunting dogs and should be preserved as such. One of our short-term (within 10 years) goals is to produce and sustain a bloodline of Weimaraners who are fierce dogs with extreme athleticism and hunting endurance. In the longer-term (10-20 years) we hope to produce the same hard-hunting Weimaraners who are also capable of higher level conformation/dog shows [see also: Dual Champion Weimaraner].
Rooster is a moderate dog from powerful hunting lines in Suprise, Arizona (Mollicone Kennels). His lineage goes back to some incredible and nationally ranked hunting dogs: Harley, and Ryder to name a few. Ruby is a beautiful speciman of the Weimaraner breed with dogs like Axel, Stewie, and Boulder in her pedigree. Together, we hope that some of their puppies will help us inch closer to our breeding goals. Puppies who do not meet aptitude testing objectives for endurance hunting will be carefully placed in active and experienced companion homes.
